To coincide with World Book Day UK which takes place on Thursday 7th March, we launched our first House Competition for Year 7 on Tuesday 5th March.
All Year 7 students were challenged to a Readathon sponsored read to help provide books and storytellers for local hospitals. The challenge runs up until Tuesday 26th March and aims to encourage all students, whether reluctant readers or avid readers, to give reading a go or read more widely.
We introduced the challenge to students in assembly and they all received a sponsor card and bookmark. In addition to raising money for hospitals, the school will also receive books to the value of 20% of our sponsorship total.
There will be lots of prizes and House points on offer for students too!
The Readathon is in aid of readforgood.org. Families can sponsor students via readforgood.org/sponsor or return the sponsor card to school with cash/cheque.
