“There is no such thing as a child who hates to read;
there are only children who have not found the right book.”
Frank Serafini
Our wonderful Learning Resource Centre (The LRC) is at the heart of the school. It is staffed by LRC Manager, Mrs Richardson, and a team of student librarians. The LRC offers all students the opportunity to browse, read and discuss books, but they are also able to complete homework in the computer suite or at the study tables; purchase items from the stationery shop; and participate in a range of activities, competitions and events. Reading is a key focus for all of our students and we have a comprehensive library of fiction and non-fiction books, including a wide selection of dyslexia friendly books, graphic novels and manga. The stock is constantly updated and students are encouraged to request books that they would like to read to help ensure that the collection remains current. Students may borrow up to two books at a time and keep them for up to three weeks, before returning or renewing them. Students will only be able to borrow a book if they don’t already have any overdue books. Our LRC opening hours are:
