There was a wonderful buzz in the main hall at Congleton High School on August 24th as students arrived to collect their Year 11 exam grades. Students, parents, carers and staff were able to gather together to celebrate the great results.
Mr Warren, Congleton High School Headteacher, commented:
“We are celebrating the success of ALL our students today, not just those with 7s, 8s and 9s but also those who have surpassed their targets and even their own expectations. These individuals have worked hard, taken all the advice and support offered and achieved their very best. We are extremely proud of them today and every day.
“The majority of students have secured the grades they need to progress on to their chosen education and training and, once again, we are delighted that the majority have opted to remain with us at Congleton High School and move up to our Sixth Form.
“We are supporting and advising the small number of students who are still deciding what they want to do next to ensure they find suitable courses that will enable them to achieve their goals.
“Subjects with particularly impressive results this year, which include Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Art, Photography, Child Development, and Health and Social Care, reflect how we value Academic, Arts and Vocational subjects equally at Congleton High. Our broad and varied curriculum enables students to select the subjects that suit their aspirations, helping them to achieve and succeed.
“I would like to pay particular tribute to our wonderful school community - students, parents, carers and staff - who have all worked together to enable these students to get through these last few years and emerge triumphant! We can all be proud of what these young people have achieved today and of our combined role in that success, all working “Together in the Pursuit of Excellence”.
“We hope the students enjoy the rest of the summer and look forward to welcoming the majority of the year group back in September as our new Year 12 cohort.”
