National Careers Week (this year, 1st to 8th March) is a good opportunity for students to spend some time thinking about careers - we know when students have a career goal in mind, they are more likely to be motivated to succeed. It is therefore important to expose our young people to a range of potential careers to spark an interest in planning for their future.

As part of our National Careers Week activities, we are dedicating two hours on Tuesday 2nd March between 9am - 11am for all of Year 8 students to take part in the Cheshire and Warrington Pledge online 'Spring into Careers' event.

Students will have the opportunity to watch various clips to gain an insight into various career pathways. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to pose questions to a wide range of employers to find out about future careers and how to prepare for them.

There will be resources to accompany the event and these will be put on our online homework portal, satchel:one. Companies such as United Utilities, Siemens, Network Rail and Balfour Beatty, among others from a cross-section of business sectors, will be attending the morning.

Students will need to register prior to the event. Please see the link to the Learn Lzive page where the event will take place: https://learnliveuk.com/pledge-spring-into-careers/ Once on the learn live page, scroll down to see instructions on how to register. Parents and carers can also register.

Students, parents or carers with any questions may contact our Careers Co-ordinator, Mrs Sadat-Shafai by emailing jsadatshafai@congletonhigh.com
